Buying furniture without seeing it in person can feel like a bigger commitment than a typical online purchase — delivery is a real logistical step, not just a courier drop-off. Here’s what to expect when ordering furniture online in South Africa.
Delivery Areas and Costs
We deliver nationwide across South Africa for a flat rate of R500. If you’re in Gauteng and your order totals more than R10,000, delivery is free. Outside of that, the R500 rate applies regardless of how far you are from Sandton, Johannesburg.
What to Check Before Your Furniture Arrives
A little preparation goes a long way toward a smooth delivery day. Before your order arrives, it’s worth checking:
- Doorways, hallways and staircases — measure the narrowest point between the front door and the final room, including any tight turns.
- Lift access — if you’re in an apartment or complex, confirm lift dimensions or whether stairs will be needed instead.
- The space itself — clear the area where the piece will go before the delivery team arrives.
- Availability — confirm that someone will be home to receive and check the delivery.
What Happens If Something Arrives Damaged or Faulty
All furniture is covered by a six-month warranty against manufacturing defects. If a product is genuinely defective, it can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Please note that this covers defective products only — change-of-mind returns aren’t accepted. If an exchange is needed for another reason, it will be considered after an assessment, and return transport costs are for the customer’s account.
